The main lodge, which is in fact the old Bodenstein family farmhouse, overlooks the Elephant Dam and invites guests to take a step back in time while admiring South African décor pieces dating back to the 1800’s.
Slipper baths, a coal stove, wash stands, luggage chests, antique Oregon cupboards and tables are subtly placed within the luxury four-star surrounding, to emphasize the captivating history of the Magaliesberg area. The chalets consist of 15 De Lux chalets, 7 Executive chalets, 4 double de lux chalets, two with interleading family units and 4 Standard chalets.
Each chalet has a thatch roof and a wooden patio. The interior includes king size or twin beds, mini bar, complimentary tea or coffee, a safe, hair dryer, radio alarm clock, and cooling fan. The rooms are furnished with antiques to complement the Lodge’s overall theme. One of the Executive chalets is designed to accommodate disabled guests.
Camp stretchers can be provided and placed in the chalets to accommodate children. None of the chalets have telephones, so guests need to bring their cell phones if they require a phone. The De Lux chalets have DSTV.
Hearty traditional meals are available in the restaurant and conference delegates can be assured of scrumptious conference snacks during their breaks.
Conference delegates can enjoy a delicious meal at the Askari a la carte restaurant. Guests can choose whether to dine in the main dining hall, the patio overlooking the Elephant Dam or in the lapa (outdoor enclosure) under the stars. Alternatively, enjoy a sunset drink in the bar or on the patio.
